Do not live here no matter what “deal” they try an offer you!!! it will not be worth it. What tells you that this place is horrid is the fact that they currently have a lawsuit opened against them for not respecting tenants rights and breaking contracts. It’s always dirty, stinks, lacks proper security. Someone managed to get in the building over winter break and fire shots in the hallway leaving casings on the ground. the garage door are constantly broken which allows anyone to park i. the garage leaving paying residents without and and the cancellation of many passes. electricity bills are also through a third party company which charges service fees and a sign on fee. Roach in some units, mold, broken appliances. just don’t sign here. The pool has probably been open a total of three weeks for the whole Summer and maybe a month or the entire 12 month lease. They don’t have proper pool cleaning equipment and they don’t bother to hire any pool companies to come out and properly take care of the pool. i’ll attach photos of what the pool has looked like for the past almost 2 weeks.

Yes, it’s close to school and yes it looks nice but beware! The problem is internal with management and to live here it feels like you have to have a law degree. If you decide to live here always put everything in writing by them and you. Take pictures of problems and follow up because they will not take care of things. Living at The Deacon has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had as a resident. Management attempted to remove parking that is clearly included in our signed leases, admitted to overselling spaces. Communication is poor — policies change without notice, concerns go unanswered, and staff often respond dismissively or with sarcasm. Basic cleanliness is also ignored. Trash was left sitting in hallways for extended periods, and I personally reported food left on the floor in a common area for more than a day with no response. These conditions violate basic sanitation standards and show a lack of care for residents’ well-being. The overall lack of professionalism, transparency, and respect for tenants — many of whom are students — is unacceptable. ****UPDATE****** Management has changed their public response to this review multiple times, yet no one has ever reached out to me directly or addressed the concerns raised. A new leasing manager has since come on board and, when an issue arose involving my lease being renewed without my consent, he was transparent and resolved it appropriately. I hope that level of accountability continues. Unfortunately, the same problems persist. Building cleanliness remains lacking, maintenance issues are ongoing, the gym is dusty and outdated with machines out of service for weeks, and the coffee machine is frequently unusable due to basic oversights. Parking has become a clear oversight as well—enforcement is inconsistent, vehicles park anywhere without consequence, and broken entry doors remain unrepaired.

This is literally the worst place to live in. They truly are just trying to make as much money out of you as possible. The actual apartments are nothing, NOTHING like the model apartment they will show you on tour. They even have apartments with exposed pipes in the ceiling and unfinished ceilings with holes that they call a 'loft style'. The hallways smell like trash ALL the time and the trash rooms should be condemned. The apartments themselves are not worth the price, and then come the management issues. There are so many incidents, I don't even know which ones all to cover. They refused to let me into my bedroom that had locked by itself and told me to instead call the on-call number. The close time of the office is 7:00 pm, and I was there at 7:02 pm, and yet they were so inconsiderate even when I told them that my phone was locked in the room as well. My roommate had to leave, but I still called the on-call number and stated the issue from her phone before, and yet I was locked out for almost 2 hours. A lot of drama later, the person finally let me in and then had the audacity to ask me why I didn't just wait at the front desk area. They themselves are scared to sit there for good reason. To prove my point, the day I moved out, someone fired shots in the building. After all that, I was charged a seventy-five dollar fee. My electricity bills were insane for no reason at all. I was paying over a hundred dollars for electric, and I had tried to live without heating for almost two months to bring the bill down and then gave up when it was still ridiculously high. I kept asking them to look into it, but they always managed to push the problem off to someone else. Finally, the nail in the coffin was the 150-dollar charge I got as a trash fee. For a lamp I kept there on purpose for the next poor soul unfortunate enough to live there. I literally hate that place and regret wasting all my hard-earned money on it. Finally, if this wasn't enough to deter you, my dryer was not working for over a month after I moved in, and they were just not bothered about this. I had to hang my clothes around my living room or go to a laundromat. My lease clearly states a dryer will be provided, and yet these amazing people who love to misuse this lease informed me that this was a maintenance issue that couldn't be helped, so suck it up.

DONT LIVE HERE PLEASE!!!! the people up front are absolutely horrible. they will call the police on you if you complain, because they feel “threatened”. They will also tow your car when you have a parking pass for the garage attached to your building because they lease the garage out to a neighboring building. When they tow your car and you ask for it back they’ll tell you that you have to pay 300$ to the towing company to get it back because you had to make a makeshift parking spot because they don’t tow the people without a pass and they oversold the garage. Your work orders will also sit for months without maintenance coming to fix it and then when they do come to “fix” it they don’t actually and they just walk in, look at it, and then leave. Oh and don’t forget moving into a DIRTY apartment!!! they don’t bother to clean apartments when residents move in and out. Don’t forget that when you complain they will laugh in your face, antagonize you, and then call the police. LIKE WHEN DO YOU ACCEPT QUESTION? OR FIX ANYTHING? I’ll attach pictures below of the horrible office staff. The girl scribbled out has nothing to do with this, she just is forced to be the voice of the horrible management team.

this is a nice ish first apartment, and the closeness to campus is nice, but there is so many issues with living here. they act like they have this nice enclosed garage when they will leave the doors open the entire year for anybody to park. even if you buy parking you are never guaranteed a spot. you also can’t do the dishes, wash clothes, or have more than one person take a shower with hot water at the same time without the water becoming cold in 30 seconds. maintenance is also extremely wishy washy. one of my roommates has gone the entire year without working outlets. she has had maintenance come to the apartment multiple times until it got to the point where they just stopped showing up. they came for something else in one of the other rooms and when she asked about it, they told her there was nothing they could do after 2 months of not saying anything. one of the only positives is the staff is nice and they understand while not being able to do much since most of this is corporate issues.
