Overall a very good place to live, rent is still relatievly affordable compared to nearby locations. Main plus is the prime location right next to shopping center and very close to law + business school. Main issue I had was persistent mold of bathroom ceilings. Maintenance was very prompt every time in removing mold from the ceiling, but mold kept on coming back. Other than that however, this motel style model offers great privacy and is overall a good place to stay.
uh Huh
It might be fine, but warning for mold! The bad stuff: Not sure what happened to the old reviews for this place, but I lived here very recently as a graduate student and it was a nightmare. We had insane mold issues that resulted in us being forced to evacuate and move ourselves out for a week (we were given about 2 days notice). Yes, literally pack up everything, clothing furniture, etc. They did put us up in either a hotel (good) or a model apartment (not good). I’m not sure how they decided to split us, but it was weird that they did that to all of us. When we returned, the apartment smelled atrocious due to the cleaning. The mold also returned several weeks later. They allowed us to break our lease with no consequences. Also, it appears that they don’t actually check to verify if you’re a graduate student when you lease. I was a grad student, but upon move in I discovered that one of my roommates wasn’t even in college anymore and hadn’t been for years. The good: These apartments are basically motel style. Your room can be accessed from the outside. It’s like living in a studio apartment. Theres another door to the outside from the main shared living space as well. My apartment had been renovated, with a microwave and mini fridge, and lots of cabinet space. we all had individual bathrooms and showers. There’s a kitchen sink that doubles as the bathroom sink. The bathroom felt extremely cramped but at least you don’t need to share. There’s another door in your room that goes to the shared living space, which has a full kitchen and living area. Parking at these apartments was good; there were options for parallel right in front of the complex. Dumpster for trash was in walking distance. Location was great, the bus stop is super close and barracks shopping is walking distance. Only downside was no in unit laundry, but they had it in building and it costs extra. Ultimately, it could’ve been really nice, but the issues we had with mold were truly awful. I hope that they have made the necessary repairs to make sure it never grows back. We were all very sick because of the mold, and it was so hard to be in grad school and be forced to move in and out of different locations. Management was shady because some people were offered the ability to break their lease earlier than others. There were zero other amenities besides laundry.
