The “luxury pool” they advertised? I swear it looks like something out of a Swamp Thing movie. The property is honestly disgusting. The trash compactor is constantly overflowing, and it makes the whole area look terrible. There was also a recent situation where residents were paying their bills through the portal, but somehow the complex wasn’t paying the power bill—so multiple people lost electricity. That’s completely unacceptable. They are extremely understaffed. The leasing office is almost always empty, and when you call or email, you rarely—if ever—get a response. Communication is basically nonexistent. On top of that, there’s fecal matter all over the property because they refuse to install proper dog waste stations. It’s unsanitary and shows a lack of care for residents. I can only speak on The Union, but it feels like the property has been left to deteriorate. Meanwhile, The Mill looks more maintained from the outside. At The Union, it’s constant issues—and there are police out here all the time. Overall, this place is poorly managed and not what was advertised at all.

This place has been an alright first apartment to have on my own with a roommate, but let me tell you the annoyance I’m having now that I’ve moved out and small things that bugged me when I lived here. First off, maintence is somewhat responsive but left us washerless for 2-3 weeks waiting for a part only for them to give us a new washer. When that new washer was installed, they manage to flood our whole apartment, not only was there water damage to our items, but it affected people below us as we lived on the fourth floor. We had to have a dehumidifier in our apartment for a couple of days which was loud and had to be run every hour every day to get rid of any lingering water in the apartment. Another thing, there was dried puke as soon as we moved in which is a biohazard in itself. And couple months later, there was NEW PUKE. We told the office and they did NOTHING until many months later. I didn’t notice when I moved out but I was charged august rent despite moving out in July. They told me I’d get the refund for it and she’d(the property manager) call me when she sends it. Well, I have yet to get that refund 3 weeks later and I’m starting to think I’m not getting it at all. I’ve emailed and they have yet to get back to me. I just want my money back :/ Also they charged me for damages on a wall which I figured out was the wall that didn’t have a stopper when I moved in. I feel like that should be on them because the stopper was put in our move in checklist. We told them there was no stopper on the door. And now we’re being charged because of it. At least they didn’t charge me for the blinds that were already damaged when I moved into my room, what a bare minimum. I wish there was more involvement and enthusiasm with an apartment but it’s too much. Nonexistent amenities, that you’re supposedly paying for in your rent. We were told we’d have cable and we were paying for internet and cable, but there was no cable. And when we told them they told us it was our responsibility to call the company. No thanks. I hate to make such a big review but I’m so upset. Be more responsive next time. Photos below were the flood, as you can see the baseboards were damaged

The appearance of the community is upscale.  The grounds are perfectly maintained.  The lawn is cut, shrubbery trimmed, and edging around the scrubs is beautifully managed.  The physical structure does not show signs of aging.   There are no signs of paint deterioration or fading paint on the signs. The pool, clubhouse and common areas of the complex also looked very manicured, up to date, and carefully managed. COMMUNITY AMENITIES: Community Center, Fitness Center, Computer Lab with Free Printing, Private shuttle bus to UNCC, Roommate matching program, Weekly resident activities, Yoga/dance studio, outdoor grills and patio, free tanning, entertainment room with billiards table, 24 hour emergency maintenance, professional on-site management, resort style swimming pool. APARTMENT AMENITIES: Private bathrooms with each apartment room, fully furnished, Plank flooring in common areas, full-size washer and dryer, full kitchen, energy efficient appliance satellite TV, individual leases, MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS INCLUDE:  Electricity with Generous utility allowance, water cable TV, High-speed internet access, WIFI throughout community, Trash.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I lived at this complex from 2022-2023 and it was the worst apartment of my college experience. We had various issues but management didn’t seem to exist at this building, only on some days at their sister complex “The Mill” down the road. The mold in our unit was so terrible that I later had to get sinus surgery after moving out. They do not check for student verification although it is advised as student living. The parking is very minimal because “security” does not check parking passes so visitors park wherever they please. The mail situation was horrible causing multiple packages of mine to be stolen. The pool was filled with the most disgusting water I have ever seen and was not cleaned once during my year there. They did not give me my security deposit back due to claiming they “never received it” although that was a requirement to move in. If you have any thoughts of moving into this complex, simply don’t unless you want the worst year of your life.

ZERO STARS!!! I have had nothing but the worst experience living at The Union for the past year. The management here is absolutely terrible. I notified them of mold growing in my apartment due to a leak in the wall at the end of April, and they did absolutely nothing about it for SIX WEEKS, despite constant phone calls and emails. Their lack of urgency allowed the mold to spread all throughout our kitchen walls and cabinets. It took SIX WEEKS for them to even make a phone call for someone to come and find where the leak was coming from. (the source of leak was found within hours of that phone call).Once the source of the leak was identified as a sprinkler in the ceiling, they literally left the ceiling open to leak onto the ground. They NEVER called anyone to schedule repairs, get rid of the mold, or even clean up the water they just let fall onto the floor; up until the day we moved out at the end of July. I find their disregard and negligence of the mold in our apartment highly irresponsible as it jeopardized the health of my roommates and I. Additionally, they answer the phone and show up to the office whenever they feel like it and have no respect for their set office hours. The management and staff here is simply incompetent. 10/10 would NOT recommend! There are so many better student living options to choose from in the UNCC area.
