The Balcony Auburn | Student Living, auburn-al

The Balcony is an amazing place to live! The new management that has taken over is great! Specifically Jessie! She is the new property manager and is absolutely wonderful! She works hard to ensure all of us are satisfied with our apartments and our lease here! She has done an excellent job of creating a smooth move-in for every resident while transitioning managements as well, and I am grateful to have such a good property manager for my stay here! The bedrooms are cozy and the apartments are top-notch! The location is great, the common areas are awesome, and the appliances are top of the line. I highly recommend The Balcony to anyone looking for a downtown Auburn apartment!

I would recommend staying away from the Balcony. Don’t get me wrong, the apartments are really cool and in a really convenient place. Being right next to downtown and having an easy walk to campus was the best part of living here. First off, the train is terrible. You get used to it but it is very annoying. I’ve lived here for two years and got used to the train quickly, but it is very loud. Second, the new management could do a better job with handling the residents needs. Last year, our manager and her maintenance crew were timely and on point. They helped with all our needs immediately. However, this year the new management has failed to recognize maintenance requests. For example, we put in a request to get our air filters replaced because we all had been sick from them. After waiting for about two months, a maintenance member finally came and told us that our air filters were so nasty that he didn’t understand how we put up with it. This is one of many examples of how had they are with handling resident needs. To name some others, we had water filter problems, dryer lint overloads, garage door problems, and worst of all mold. We noticed that during the summer, when my roommates and I were home, that we were healthier than how we felt while at school living at the Balcony. We haven’t tested for mold but we know for a fact that we have mold because other residents have tested for it. The living conditions are unbearable. Not only are we confident of mold, but when our friends moved into the apartment next to us last year, the previous residents had left trash and hadn’t cleaned the place. Obviously the former residents should have cleaned, but it had seemed like the new management had not even gone into the apartments to prep them for the arrivals of new residents. Definitely not the warmest of welcomes. The new management seems to be tied up on selling units more than taking care of their current residents. Long story short, I give a forewarning before signing here. Unless they really fix up the apartments, the living conditions are not worth how high the prices are.

My daughter lived here for two out of her four years as a student and absolutely loved it! She would have lived there for all four but she has recently graduated - we are SO proud of her! We love the building! And we LOVE our graduate daughter even more!

Be aware that in the 5 bedroom, 1 room is definitely had a HUGE disadvantage and you have very little control over whether you get that room or not. And they are NOT friendly if you have any concerns! DO NOT STAY HERE. Better options for the price.

My apartment is clean and super close to campus. Glad I renewed, the new staff are super responsive. An overall fun and convenient place to live. Excited for the new gym.
