Great place to stay and is near to the university. Just a bit far from the city centre. However, the bus stop is just outside making commute a whole lot easier. Going to the uni can be a pain sometimes as it is quite hilly, though I got used to it quickly. The management and staff are lovely and very supportive!

Great rooms and very kind staff who are always happy to help. Have stayed here 2 years without issue, looking forward to my third year. Only issue is the walk up the hill does make it harder to get into campus, but its not too long. Would highly recommend.

The staff are really friendly here and have supported me with anything I’ve needed. I’d recommend staying here, especially if you want to still be pretty close to campus after leaving first year halls. My only issue was the walls being extremely thin. There was a bit of a frenzy of people reporting each other for noise that couldn’t really be helped due to the nature of the building.

Stay literally anywhere else. A cardboard box on Sidwell street may be better value for your money. Incredibly expensive, Limited reception hours, Out of hours takes forever, Small common room, Far away from everything, Have to climb a hill to get to campus (and no, you won't get used to it), Sleeping with your window open in the summer means you get woken up by the trains The one redeeming quality is that it's right next to a 24/7 petrol station and it's close to Kay House. Apart from that, stay WELL CLEAR. I really wish I could've enjoyed this place for my first year of uni but it's made it miserable.

I would give this company a zero star review if I could. I have been desperate to write a review as I hope to help people avoid being put through what they have put me through. This so called ‘company’ are the most vile people I have ever had to deal with. I was booked to have a room with them for my first year at the university as I had ended up going through clearing and had subsequently missed out on university halls. Firstly, when I arrived at the site, it looks absolutely dire. Nothing like how it has advertised and the entire place backs onto the train line which runs only about 3 feet away from the window to the room I had been allocated. The reception staff were incredibly unhelpful and unfriendly, not people I would be wanting to deal with on a regular basis. When I got into my allocated room I was once again appalled. Not was the train line only 3 feet away from the window but the entire room was falling to pieces. The cupboard doors on the kitchenette were all wonky or half falling off (something which I imagine they would have charged me for later down the line even though I had nothing to do with it. They’re that sort of company!) the mattress was stained and the bathroom was horrid (there was hair in the shower drain still!). I decided I hated it and did not want to spend one moment longer there, so I left and drove three hours back home. When I got home I emailed them to say I would like to cancel my agreement and no longer take my place, which was totally within my rights as it was within their 3 day period (who even has a three day period anyway. I thought the standard was two weeks). I got no response to this email until a few weeks later when I received emails threatening court action if I didn’t pay my rent for that month. I responded to these emails and reminded them of my email requesting to cancel my agreement, to which I was told that I had sent this request to the incorrect email. The email I sent it too was, however, the email stated on my contract. But the person who was emailing me was having absolutely none of it. It seems they like to lie and exploit teenagers for money. I eventually decided to give up arguing as it’s impossible when you’re conversing with a brick wall that doesn’t even know their own policies or even stick to them. Anyway, I now at only 18 am forced to pay £1200 a month for a room I am not using and with money that is practically non existent which now means I won’t actually be able to afford to attend university next year and take up the place I had to defer for this year and has ruined my future, so I warn others to be wary of this company (if they can even be called that). What makes it worse is that this company is actually on the universities recommendation list. I have contacted the university about this issue and they agree that it is abysmal and I have asked them to please consider removing them from this list as it is totally unfair and inhumane. Please be incredibly careful with this company. They have single handedly ruined the future of a bright and kind youngster who was aiming for the world. Well done Exeter One, well done.
