It was my first time staying in a hostel as a solo traveler, and I think it perfectly captured my imagination as a solo traveler staying in a hostel. The lobby is clean and comfortable, and drinking water is available, as well as laundry and kitchen facilities (kettle…rice cooker…microwave…air fryer). The staff are friendly, and you can leave your baggage right at the hostel before check-in and after check-out. Although the pricing is a bit high, the surroundings are quiet and very close to Perth Train Station. There are also several bus stops nearby, which is very convenient. I considered myself lucky enough to have great roommates who never disturbed me whenever I was in the room. Highly recommend it and will stay again if I travel to Perth next time!

I had an amazing experience staying at this hostel — definitely a 10 out of 10. I’m from Chile, and from the moment I arrived, everyone was incredibly kind. The staff in particular were always warm, welcoming, and willing to help with anything I needed. I felt truly cared for. I stayed in a mixed dorm room with six people and one bathroom, and even so, the experience was extremely comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen is clean, the facilities are spacious, and the common areas are great. There’s lots of social life and plenty of space to meet and share with other travelers from all over the world. They even have good beer, which is a nice bonus! Overall, I’m very grateful for my stay and would absolutely recommend this hostel.

Absolutely awful experience from start to finish. I have never felt so unwelcome in a place that is supposed to accommodate travellers. When I raised a concern, instead of listening or trying to help, multiple staff members seemed to side against me and I felt completely ganged up on. The way I was spoken to was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. The customer service was shocking. Any attempt to discuss the issue was met with attitude rather than a willingness to resolve the situation. To make matters worse, they refused to provide a refund despite the circumstances and showed no interest in finding a fair solution. The entire experience left a very bad impression. I expected basic respect as a paying customer and did not receive it. I would strongly recommend that anyone considering staying here think twice before booking. There are plenty of other places that value their guests and treat people with courtesy. Unfortunately, Hostel G was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had

I’m currently staying at Hostel G in Perth and overall it’s a decent hostel, but it has a few major drawbacks that are worth knowing about before booking. On the positive side, the rooms have air conditioning which is a big plusThe hostel is also very clean, which seems to be surprisingly rare for hostels in Perth judging by other places and reviews I’ve seen. The building itself is quite spacious and there are some nice chill out areas where you can relax during the day. However, there are some downsides. The biggest issue is the lack of a proper kitchen. There are only air fryers, microwaves, toasters and kettles available, so you can’t really cook proper meals. On top of that, there are only two fridges and two freezers for the entire hostel, and there’s no dry food storage at all, which makes it difficult to keep groceries. Another negative is the price. At around $80 per night it feels very expensive considering the limited amenities, especially without a real kitchen or adequate food storage. Lastly, the hostel isn’t very social. If you’re looking to meet people or for a lively backpacker atmosphere, you might find it a bit quiet. There’s no outdoor space either, which means people congregate outside the main entrance smoking - also no ash tray so cig butts everywhere which is not very appealing. Overall it’s clean and comfortable with good air conditioning and space to relax, but the lack of kitchen facilities, limited food storage, high price, and quiet atmosphere may make it less appealing for longer stays or budget travellers.

Addi needs a raise, better customer service is really not possible, he's always happy to help and makes it easy to extend the stay, change roons, whatever you need! The hostel in general is a hit or miss with the rooms, all rooms have ac but some of them don't work too well. The price overall is quite expensive for a hostel, but they do offer clean and big social areas. I stayed for 4 weeks and it was manageable, but the kitchen is kind of non-existing.... Overall a good hostel but meeting new friends and socialising can be difficult as most people there are travelling in groups or are very un-social. The social area is packed with people with headphones and they're too busy to look up from their phone or computer. While they have some booths as well for bigger groups the booths are always occupied by 1 person laying down sleeping?? Napping?? Idk but feels a bit awkward. The cleaning is questionable as well, our rooms wasn't cleaned every day and the bathroom didn't have any hand soap at all. Felt a bit filthy to walk on the floor. Thea toasties are definitely something you need to try if you go here!
