The Redstone Commons is a terrible place to live, highly suggest anywhere else… The walls are paper thin, so literally never have a moment of quiet if you have roommates. There is so central AC and their policies on bringing your own AC are really strict. So the building untimely just stays like 100 degrees all the time. The website says that it’s “fully furnished” but the furniture in there is incredibly cheap, uncomfortable to sit on, and sad looking. The maintenance team will barge in with little to no notice (or will just say that they are coming in a certain week-no day/time). When they do come they are loud, in the way, and leave behind a mess. Literally the only good thing about this place is that it’s close to campus, but even then the walk is still super long. Overall I wouldn’t live there again, was a miserable experience.

I lived in the Redstone Apartments my senior year of college in a duplex with one roommate. First off, Matt Fitzpatrick is an incredible guy. He is friendly, reasonable and accommodating. It was really a pleasure to live at the Redstone Apartments. The grounds are well kept, beautiful and quiet. There are grills, picnic tables and fields for spending a day outside relaxing. The bedrooms were spacious and the living area was able to comfortably accommodate additional furniture and large groups of friends. A couch, coffee table, side table and dining room set is included. Each bedroom has a full+ frame and mattress, bookshelf, dresser and desk. For kitchen appliances, there is only a fridge and an oven-range but a cheap microwave and a frying pan will set anyone up nicely. The oven appears pretty old, but works well. It is electrically heated so be conscious of this when buying pots and pans. Having seen around Burlington, these appliances (especially the range) appear standard for this price point and below. If there were ever non-emergency maintenance issues, they were fixed within a day or two at max. They make filing repair requests is easy and the workers are very polite and informative. My only complaint having lived there is the laundry, which is operated by a third party. The machines are coin operated and fairly expensive to run ($2 for one fairly small wash, $1.75 for one standard dry or $3.75 in total). I found myself regularly using 3 washers after a heavy week of laundry. I cannot emphasize enough how great the Redstone Apartments are to live in overall. I recommend it to any college student.

The apartment itself was nice. My roommate and I moved in with new carpets and paint on the walls. Laundry was free. The unfortunate thing was the price of the apartments and the no visitor parking (parents can stay but a sibling can't???). Overall, the apartments are expensive but it was still a nice experience there.

I have lived in the apartments for almost two years, and recently my roommate and I have had a terrible experience. Since out landlord left it is nearly impossible to contact anyone when we need something, there is hardly ever a person in the office, and not once has a community advisor answered our phone calls. After finally finding someone to sublet from us this coming summer, Redstone informed this individual that they were not allowed to live here with a minor, and this is not stated anywhere in the sublet application or online for us to see. Also, Redstone has taken all of its guest parking spots away so they can charge more people for towing, and we can no longer host overnight guests. We are extremely disappointed with our experience here.

Don’t do it folks, high rent (way above BTV average of ~700-800), and no spots for friends to park in (a serious issue when you’re so far from most places that students live). Laundry is free, which is a perk. But the value of that is outweighed by the aforementioned. You do get a locked mailbox and have an office where you can pick up packages (during certain hours), which is also a perk. Also, it does come with a bed and basic furniture but it’s eerily similar to dorm furniture and some of it is of a low quality (e.g. desks are old and worn, the chairs are plastic auditorium chairs, and the table is heavy metal/plastic, akin to a school cafeteria). If you took the difference in rent from a regularly priced place you could easily buy higher quality furniture yourself (which is yours to keep) and still be spending far less money. Overall, 1/5. They think they have a captive market to gouge students, but this review is to address that. Something tells me they don’t even read these reviews. Moving somewhere different next year. As a good friend of mine would say, “This place is a no from me dawg.”
