I've lived at Unite Student Living for a year and 6 months (by the time my lease ends), and it's been a great experience! The Unite team has moved me in tremendous ways from helping me settle into my apartment and pairing me with wonderful roommates. I had moved from Illinois to Utah to attend the university of Utah and I had a terrible experience with another complex before finding Unite. Unite made it so easy for me to apply and secure a spot while I was still in Illinois and made moving in a breeze. I've haven't had any major issues regarding the complex or the team in my time here. Although my current roommate match wasn't the best fit this time around and its been difficult, but the Unite Team has helped me a lot regarding that issue. The team also helped me A LOT when i was financially struggling and had issues with my job. Jaxon, Evelyn, and previous Unite staff have been such a wonderful team and support system throughout my time here at Ubite Student Living. Im pretty sad to leave this complex this upcoming July, especially with Jaxon and Evelyn planning fun community events and raffles. But I feel that its time for me to settle into my own place and change up my surroundings a bit, see a bit more of what Utah has in store.

I really don't want to have to do this, but I'm nearing the end of my lease at the end of the summer and want to express my concerns with this complex. But one main thing I want everyone to be aware of. SAFETY. is not really a thing here. - The main door to enter the building at the resident lobby with packages, access to the stairwell without keyfob access, and elevator without keyfob access is frequently broken. Anyone could come in and steal packages, go into the apartment complex, ANYTHING COULD HAPPEN. Not sure how it breaks so frequently, but this shouldn't be happening. - IF YOU HAVE A BIKE, PLEASE DON'T LIVE HERE. A lot of students, especially in places where outdoor sports are popular, have bikes. The apartment has bike storage for residents. When I was first looking at this apartment, I thought "great! I can bring my ebike to get around town to save gas!" Oh, how wrong I was. Rent with the fees is expensive here; you would think that the amenities would be great and secure. Wrong. The bike storage is frequently broken into, with the door being easily accessible to the public. I mean, you can see it from 700 East. ANYONE CAN TAKE THE BIKES. And they do! In the fall semester, this guy came and stole a bunch of bike parts. I talked to the leasing agent at the time, and they told me that the door was cracked a little bit open, where the person just waltzed on in the bike storage and stole bikes. This has happened multiple times. It even happened to my expensive e-bike. I thought it would be safe since this place was marketed as a safe place to live, especially for students, but no. - Something important to note is that there is supposed to be security on the premises at night. I've probably seen them out there like once. I know some residents here who are out late sometimes, and they also rarely see them. Instead of spending money on a shuttle that only 2-3 people use a day between Unite and their other property, Montaire in Sugarhouse, this money could be used for the security of the premises and the repair of doors. Over the last few months living here, I just don't feel very safe living here. If you are a parent looking for somewhere safe for your child to live, this isn't it. If you are an international student also looking for somewhere to live that is safe and welcoming, this isn't it. There's a lot more I can write about, but safety was number one when I was looking for a new apartment, and I was misled.

We weren't sure about Unite student housing but someone told us recently there have been some changes to the management team. Being good shoppers we decided to give it another shot. I was really impressed with the new team! Evelyn and Jaxyn were validating of our concerns and really went above and beyond to make sure we understood all the ins and outs of their rent and community policies to avoid some of the pitfalls others have experienced not understanding the intricacies and nuances of student housing. This is our first time looking for housing and I highly recommend Unite. The rooms are nice the amenities are plentiful and the aesthetics of the common areas are welcoming and comfortable with a twist of modern style. I would rate my personal experience 10/10. Go see Evelyn....she will help you feel good about your choice!

Edit 3.0 I originally had a ton of problems with this place from the mail to the lack of security, but mostly everything has been resolved (probably because they read my 1 star review). The mail has improved and the bike room is never going to change because of homelessness in SLC. Would recommend you invest in a chain lock if you want a bike here. They have recently been attempting to fix a lot of their issues with management and other things, and looking back at it I think this place was so problematic because of it being so new. It seems to be getting better so I won't be as harsh with my review.

For SLC, the apartments and bedrooms are huge! The roof top is super cute, and it's always so clean. The leasing specialist Jaxyn is so kind and helpful! I have nothing bad to say. Moved in August 2025.
