My roommate and I have lived here for 3 years and just resigned for year 4. Our location is close to campus and the apartment itself is clean and well managed. The landlord is approachable and quick to answer questions or fix an issues that arise!

Rented in Washington Place Apartments along with another house managed by the same landlord. Both experiences were poor. Internet is absolutely terrible at the apartment. They also try to charge you for routine cleaning at the end of your lease (which is not the tenant's responsibility in Wisconsin, according to Wisconsin Law) They just sneak it in their lease to scam college kids out of hundreds of dollars. Note: you have the right to deny any charge for routine cleaning such as carpet cleaning/shampoo, kitchen cleaning, bathroom cleaning, etc. As long as nothing is damaged. To add to that point, they will also charge for every little thing in the end. They charged for pieces missing in the fridge that were never there to start with, and charged for a missing house key (when it would be thrown away anyways because they have to change the locks). They are also very strict on rent. If you pay your rent on time for 2 years straight, and have ONE instance of rent being late by ONE day, you get charged $50 for a late fee. Lastly, our hot water heater stopped working and it took almost TWO WEEKS TO FIX. That means we all took ice cold showers, washed dishes with cold water, washed clothes with cold water, etc. 0 appreciation of the tenants. Will never recommend this landlord. Terrible.

Justin has been, by far, my favorite, and the best landlord. Very flexible, helpful when things need to be fixed, works with you, and is very accommodating. I have had a wonderful experience living here the last 2 years. Highly recommend. Very nice apartments. Fully furnished as well.

My experience living at Washington Place was good. From reading some of the older reviews I thought Lynn was going to give me and the rest of my roommates a hard time, but she was very friendly and super helpful. She doesn’t ignore the laws but is rather well-versed in them. I frequently asked her questions about a new lease/apartment I was looking at after graduation and she was able to give me many suggestions. Have a genuine conversation with her occasionally and get to know her because she is a good landlord. We were in a 4 bed 2 bath unit, and it was decent. My only big complaint is that the walls were thin, so I was able to hear conversations, albeit faintly, from the unit next door. I was also able to hear WAY too many footsteps from the elephants above me. Other than that, everything worked as it should (AC, heat, stove, fridge, etc). Maintenance issues were always taken care of quickly and professionally. Maintenance staff were always friendly too! Never had any trouble with the internet, but of course had trouble with CenturyLink going down. I was thorough with my check-in sheet and also took pictures of everything. Even if it doesn’t seem broken or damaged, it’s WAY easier to take a picture then it is to try and dispute anything that was your fault. One nice thing Lynn and staff would do would be almost every Friday they would put out cookies or some small treat to share with tenants. They even put of more goodies during finals and Christmas time. As stated in another review “Over all a good value, with lots of perks, In the area it is pricey, but it is the premium apartments. If you are a respectful tenant, you will receive respect and promptness in return. I will miss living here in the coming year.” – Alex Vanden Heuvel. I couldn’t agree more

Do yourself a favor and DO NOT LIVE HERE!! The apartments are okay but the property manager Lynn makes living here horrible. She has consistently ignored laws involving emotional support animals and when you tell her of the law she threatens you with her fancy lawyer from Madison. She seems to think she can take advantage of college students and is on a very apparent power trip. Do yourself a favor and if you’re a college student live anywhere in Platteville. The dorms are better than living here.
