I lived at Merced Station as a first year at UC Merced. Like any other naive student, I was captivated by the furnished rooms, gym, and pool areas. However, my experience was awful. From the very beginning, I was put in housing with a roommate allergic to cats, even though I had brought my ESA. Causing ME to change rooms, all by myself. I ended up getting a single room, paying double the price, just because I felt so uncomfortable. This was fine, for a while. A big issue was trash, there is a specific time to put your trash out, or else you get fined. But trash was NEVER picked up on time. So because of everyone leaving the trash out, the outside doors get so dirty and they stink. The other problem was a lot of things at station break, the hot tub, the tvs, and even the gates. It takes so long to get fixed, some didn’t even get fixed in my whole year of staying there. I ended up having to switch rooms AGAIN, due to a roommate issue, that the staff did not care to resolve. I even tried to get out of my lease because of how unhappy I was, but that was unsuccessful. I then lived in a coed apartment, my roommates were never home, yet all of their stuff was left there, including food, spices, decorations, everything. When it came to move out day, I knew i would be charged for all of their stuff, I tried to contact management, but per the agreement, they did not care. It was either clean the WHOLE entire apartment, touching moldy food and things that were not mine, or get fined 300 dollars. What made my time here the worst, was the staff. They pick and chose who they wanted to kick out of the areas because of the time restrictions. Me and my partner were kicked out for being at the hot tub past hours, the next day we took a walk around the pool around the same time just to see a whole loud party going on at the pool. This was the same issue at the basketball courts. What has made me the most upset and uncomfortable, was their attitude to my partners service dog. We had been approached twice at the pool because of a service animal, even though he was doing his job, and not causing any issues or disruptions. The first time we were approached by a manager, she asked to see documentation which we gladly provided, and she let us continue our stay. The second time, we were approached by a regular staff member, (i will include her image below) she told us to leave multiple times, even though we told her that the dog is a service animal, we stated we would provide documentation necessary. She did not care at all, she said that it was not in their policy. We were kicked out of the pool area. Don’t live here unless you want to be broke and depressed, the only thing they cared about was taking my money. Thanks!

I was one of the vendors at Merced Station’s Holiday night market. It was my first time there and it was such a great turn out! The property was beautiful and the staff team were amazing! If there’s ever another night market like this, I would love to come back! I would definitely recommend other vendors to join the next time.

It was a PLEASUREEEE visiting Merced Station. Nicole Spedding, was AMAZING!!! She was great, helpful and overall incredibly nice. She took the time show me round the property and answered all my questions. Her professionalism, and friendly approach made the experience even more enjoyable. I truly appreciate the tour and the excellent customer service.
