To start off, when we were filling out the applications the housing staff was no help. We called and emailed numerous times before getting a straight response. We were doing the gender inclusive housing and they kept lying saying we don't need to do anything, but when the supervisor picked up one time she told me there was stuff needed to be done. They didn't tell us until then that we can't live on campus either and that we had to live in the Canterbury Green Apartment partnership. When we first moved in, the apartment was not cleaned at all, much less even walked through. There were socks in the laundry room, as well as a washcloth in the closet, and socks in the drawer one of the bedrooms. The bathrooms were moldy and practically unusable without hours of scrubbing and chemicals. The dishwasher as well was coated in mold, the front door didn't lock, and the fridge light didn't work. One of the closet bedroom doors weren't on the track and was simply laying against the wall. Some of the porcelain was cracked, one of the burners on the stove was broken. The whole apartment was coated in dust and hair. The laminate wood had red and blue stains. The carpet also had red stains that we were able to remove with soapy water. There was an awful stench in the whole apartment that was near impossible to get rid of. The apartment was the definition of "the landlord special" as there were tape, nails, and hair that were simply painted over. Maintenance comes and fixes issues but overcharges and takes days if not weeks. Our roof was leaking from the gutters not being cleaned and it took a week for anyone to come fix it. When we were moving out we put the housing as a past apartment on our new application, and pfw would never answer any emails from the new apartment or us. When we would call they just claimed the supervisor was busy and they emailed her, as she was the only one who could answer those types of emails. After a week since the initial email, and numerous phone calls and emails I went to the office and spoke with the supervisor and she said she can't answer those emails. I asked why she couldn't have told anyone that and who I should send a new email to and she said can't tell me because no one could. They only give you two days to move in, the weekend before classes, and they give you half a day to get out, at 12 the Saturday after finals end. Overall, this whole process has been awful and I thoroughly regret living here.

Got banned just for charging my phone as a visitor in the bathroom with a disability of the bladder I tried to fix & made worse with an infection. The staff lied I stayed over hours & a few days. lies, only two days & not over hours or after hours. Racist if you ask me & petty. They could of simply said something 1st.

Apartments are not as advertised. Not clean when they are supposedly deep cleaned, no fresh paint on walls, lots of missing paint and holes throughout apartment. Our stove, dishwasher, and toilets didn’t work along with the showers wouldn’t drain. We lost power 3 times within a month and once for 8+ hours at a time. Disappointed, and do not recommend. Very overpriced and unreasonable.

In the beginning of the school year, things were just...fine. The only complaints I have about the living spaces are that sometimes the water temperature is inconsistent, the windows don't close all the way so its often too hot/cold, and the doors sometimes open randomly with changes in air pressure. The real issues lie with the price and staff. It is EXTREMELY overpriced; I stayed in a 2 bed 1 bath plan and we broke down the payments to $780 a month. The staff are alright, but not attentive at all; we didn't even get a recycling bin at the beginning of the year, and we still haven't gotten one after requesting it (it's March now). Maintenance work orders take weeks to complete, and when they are done they aren't often done well. RA's will tell you when a heath inspection is to be completed 'within the next 24 hours,' but it isn't actually completed until several days later. The biggest problem came with the COVID-19 pandemic; they told students they were allowed to stay in Student Housing if they wanted/needed to, but then, a week later, 36 hours before a stay-at-home order from the Governor took effect, they tried to force everyone out of housing. It's hard enough to move in, but trying to move out with less than 48 hours' notice is near impossible, especially for students that are out of state, or live far away. It was also directly against the best interest of the students to do this; the virus spreads when people travel, so if they really cared about the health of their students they would have told everyone to stay put. To add insult to injury, they wouldn't even refund a semester; they offered $500 credit toward the next school year for those that were not seniors, and seniors got $500. As stated earlier, $500 doesn't even cover a month of residency. They don't have regard for their residents at all, and it's disgusting that they would put hundreds of young adults at risk just to save a few bucks. Any part of me that was considering living here next year has died.

I have been living in student housing for the past 3 years, and I do not recommend. PFW claims that the apartments are deep cleaned during the summer, but they are not. I have not had an apartment that is move in ready. PFW also charges way too much for what you are getting. Ball State does not even charge the rates that PFW does.
