Jordan and Abby at Hoffler Place Apartments were absolutely wonderful throughout my daughter’s college year. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail made her transition from home to school so much easier for our family. When we needed to sublease the apartment nine months into the lease, they made the entire process effortless. I highly recommend Hoffler Place for both the beautiful property and the exceptional management team.

I am a sophomore at CofC and cannot stress enough how awful living at Hoffler Place has been. From the start, the leasing office has been disorganized, misleading, and extremely difficult to work with. Before moving in, I was told I would be able to move in early because I needed to be back in Charleston for recruitment. When I followed up to confirm the date, I was told by multiple people that early move-in was never promised. The next day, I was told the opposite—that I would be able to move in early, but there was no official date. After that, the leasing office stopped responding altogether. My dad eventually had to go to the office in person just to get this resolved. Parking has been one of the biggest issues. I was guaranteed a parking spot in my lease, but when I arrived, I was told I did not have one and that there was nothing they could do. I had to pay $300 a month for a last-minute parking spot that was a 40-minute walk away. After repeated calls, I was finally placed on a waiting list and eventually given a spot in the garage. The parking garage is extremely tight and poorly managed. Assigned spots are not enforced, and cars without parking stickers regularly park there. The space is so small that only one car can move at a time, and people often hit concrete beams or block others in. I once had to climb out of my sunroof because my spot was too tight to open my doors. Because of this, it often takes 30–40 minutes just to get my car in or out, and I have had to Uber to work multiple times. The worst part of living here is the construction. There is a massive building being constructed right next to Hoffler, and the noise runs from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., sometimes longer. The pile driving shakes the apartment all day and makes it impossible to sleep, study, or relax. My roommates and I have asked for rent adjustments or any compensation and have received no response. We were told to contact someone named Elizabeth, but she is never available and does not respond to emails. On top of this, there has been nighttime road construction on King Street, causing noise and bright lights throughout the night. I was getting very little sleep. Allowing students to move in without warning them about this level of construction is unacceptable. Do not live at Hoffler Place. It is overpriced, poorly managed, and not worth the stress. Would not wish this living situation on my worst enemy.

Jordan and Abby, who are employees at Hoffler Place, provided excellent customer service from start to finish. They were always very helpful, answered the phone whenever I had questions, and made the whole experience much easier and stress-free. The apartment itself was clean, safe, and in a great location, which made it a really enjoyable place to live. The downside was the construction going on next door, which could get extremely loud, especially during the early morning hours. Overall, I would still highly recommend Hoffler Place, especially because of the amazing support and professionalism from Jordan and Abby.

I have had the best experience living here. Although the construction was quite annoying my first few months here, the staff made sure to send out updates weekly and truly sympathized with us for something that was out of their control. Not only do we get awesome treats and goodies almost monthly, but the staff themself are altogether awesome. So friendly and helpful and just genuine people. A wave from the office from Jordan and Abby always makes my day a little brighter! The location of Hoffler and the amenities such as the gym and the pool deck are a bonus! Thanks Hoffler!

The staff has been very helpful from move in to assisting with finding roommates. Mary Amanda and Jordan have gone out of their way to make sure our daughter was comfortable and satisfied with her unit. Maintenance has always resolved the few small issue she had when she first settle in her place. The building is clean and all of the new renovations look fantastic. She is so happy that she has committed to a new lease for next school year. Happy to have a team in the office helping my daughter’s college living experience so enjoyable! We would highly recommend Hoffler Place .
