Firstly, I would like to mention that I did not rebook for next year because I am not satisfied with the value for the price I paid. This is a new accommodation, so new that the satellite image still shows it as a construction site, and I believe I am among the first residents. New accommodations often come with numerous issues and faults. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: - Location: The location is excellent, just a 2-minute walk to the Victoria Centre, and every bus stop is roughly 5 minutes away. - Staff: The staff are extremely helpful, especially Sarah at reception, who always assists with any issues or questions. Paul is always available to fix or replace anything that is broken. They provide prompt service and do their best to resolve any problems. - Common Room: There is a large, comfortable common room, perfect for hanging out with friends. It's mostly quiet and a great place to relax, chat, or eat. - Trash Management: The trash rooms are easily accessible and well-maintained, with frequent trash removal to prevent any unpleasant odors. - No Elevators: There are no elevators, which is advantageous since each block is only two floors. This means no waiting for elevators or dealing with broken ones. - Cleanliness: The accommodation is frequently cleaned. - Well-equipped Rooms and Kitchens: The rooms and kitchens are well-equipped with necessary amenities. Cons: - Hot Water Issues: There are frequent issues with the hot water supply, leading to cold showers. - Weak Security: The security is inadequate, allowing intruders who have previously caused disturbances and vandalism. - Plumbing Problems: In September, there was a severe plumbing issue that caused a foul odor, and it took a while to resolve. - Laundry Facilities: The laundry rooms have limited machines, resulting in long waiting times. - Gym Size: The gym is very small, even smaller than my flat. - Kitchen Size: In the 2-bed apartments, the kitchen is too small to accommodate two people at once, and the mini-fridge is insufficient for two people, limiting grocery storage. - Bathroom Size: The bathrooms (unless in a studio) are very small, described by my flatmate as "cubicles," making them quite impractical for regular use. Overall, while there are some positive aspects, the numerous issues, particularly with security, facilities, and space, have led to my decision not to rebook for next year.

Amazing staff, Raman and Kier are so nice and wonderful, they tend to all your needs and are like your second family. The accommodation is great and the common rooms so practical for everything! Free stuff too from the accom from time to time!

I have lived here for three years it’s a great accommodation at the perfect location just 10mins walk from NTU and 2 mins from Victoria centre. This is the place to be! I love the interiors and the homely feeling it brings everything is so pretty and convenient. Shoutout to the manager Kieran he is the sweetest always greets you with a smile and jokes. And the biggest selling point is the puppy yoga sessions and nothing can win over puppies! I do keep seeing water issues related reviews but those issues don’t really exist anymore but people before may have had a different experience Tip~ I would say the 4room and 7room en-suites are the better than any other rooms if you are booking

I had the best first year experience living in Straits Village. The staff are the loveliest people. Although I haven’t rebooked for the following year, I will hopefully be coming back in the near future.
