I had a really positive experience staying at Brickworks. The housemates were respectful, the maintenance team was quick and efficient, and the reception staff were always friendly and cooperative. The facilities are great, the location is excellent, and the terrace view is honestly beautiful, especially at night. Overall, it felt like a comfortable and safe place to live, especially as an international student new to the city. I genuinely miss living there and would highly recommend it. The only downside is the high rent, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars.

I lived in this place for 9 months. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it due to the ongoing and persistent problems in this accommodation. From the very first day, I encountered issues in my room—starting with a ceiling light that constantly disturbed my sleep, followed by continuous construction work and noise. It was extremely difficult to live under such conditions. Although the staff tried to help and address these problems, their efforts did not lead to any real improvement, and the living conditions remained almost unbearable. As a result, I had to terminate my contract to avoid further damage to my health. I am genuinely disappointed and it makes me sad to leave this review.

Stayed with Brickworks for 5 months. The room was very spacious, sound proofing is spectacular between other rooms and the outside, and other students were pleasant. There were many events hosted, like pub quizes, movie nights, but my all time favourite was the monthly bookclub hosted by Eimear.

Living here has been a great experience overall, the place is well kept and any issues I’ve raised were sorted out quickly. The staff have been great too, always helpful and easy to deal with. Special mention to Eimear and Misha especially, who have been quick to respond, friendly, and genuinely helpful with anything I’ve needed.

PART 1 I honestly don’t know where to start. If you’re reading this before booking with Brickworks, I would honestly advise you to find another solution. The prices are insanely high compared to the low standard. I had countless problems during my stay but I’ll try and list the more relevant. I would like to mention that all of the staff at reception was always kind and respectful. 1. on our arrival (we were in a double room) the room and common spaces were insanely dirty. Me and my roommate had to clean for 3 hours before it was acceptable. We then sent an email reporting all the dirty and broken things we found but there was no action taken. Additionally, at check out they charged me and my roommate for things that were damaged priori to our arrival. Even if we sent photos and they confirmed that it was their mistake, they still took money from our deposit. They falsely claimed that the room was dirty when we left even if the video they took shows the room in perfect conditions. 2. During the booking process we requested an all female flat and not only that was not the case, but we weren’t even informed of that. No communication whatsoever. Ultimately our guy roommate was lovely and we had no issues but the fact that we weren’t informed was disappointing. 3. even tho the maintenance was quick and efficient, there was always something wrong. In the whole flat (and building I suppose) the shower drain would get clogged every week, and not due to poor cleaning. Moreover, the hot water wasn’t working for the first few months. Ultimately, there were water problems almost every week resulting in hours and hours without being able to use water. 4. One of the many times that the hot water wasn’t working, I texted reception if they could come check it out. After 1 minute I noticed that it started working so I sent another text saying that they weren’t gonna send anyone since the problem was solved. After thanking them, I got in the shower and I heard maintenance knocking at the door for 2 minutes. The music was on and the shower was running and from the hallways you can clearly hear everything inside. Despite the loud music and hearing the shower the person from maintenance got in my room without my consent. This left me speechless. I had thankfully closed the bathroom door, or otherwise this person would’ve seen me naked. 5. Loud construction works started on January and have been going on until our checkout (june). At first, Brickworks sent us an email letting us know that there were gonna be loud noises for a couple days. The emails kept coming for maybe two weeks, and then they stopped warning us. From January til June there wasn’t a day where I didn’t wake up at 7:30/8 due to these loud noises. The miscommunication was insane. We tried to ask for an explanation and their answer was that “they were gonna let the construction team know”, as if it was their fault!! Of course it wasn’t the builders responsibility to be quiet or communicate to us. This heavily impacted me and my roommates experience and left us and our flatmates very disappointed. 6. During the last week of final exams the wifi stopped working for 5 days. This was unfortunate timing, but it’s more disappointing because we pay almost 60€ a week for utilities and the wifi not working was a huge problem.
