I would like to raise a concern regarding the lack of transparency and the reasonableness of the cleaning charges applied at check-out. A friend of mine and I previously lived here for two years. While the rent is relatively high š°, we did not raise this as an issue, as this is student accommodation and utilities are included in the price. However, upon check-out, despite having cleaned both our private rooms and the common areas thoroughly š§¹š§¼, we received an inspection report the day after moving out stating that we were charged AUD $120 for a āsanitising fee.ā The report did not clearly specify what issues were found in the room or why this charge was necessary ā We contacted reception to seek clarification š. The staff advised that the fee was related to: ⢠A bin under the kitchen sink and items left in the bathroom, which belonged to a roommate, not to us š©š»āš¼; and ⢠Dust found under the door of our room, an area that was already dusty at the time of move-in. The sanitising fee consists of $120, broken down into $90 for common area cleaning and $30 for room cleaning. While I understand that cleaning services may incur costs š§½, I believe this charge is unreasonable, particularly given that: ⢠The inspection report lacked detailed evidence š; ⢠Some of the issues cited were not caused by us; As a resident who lived here for two years, this experience was disappointing š. In my opinion, renting privately with friends may be more affordable and transparent in terms of costs.

Axel has always been approachable, helpful, and supportive during my time at Yugo. What stood out most was that he always took ownership of issues and made sure they were fully resolved, never once leaving residents feeling stuck or without a clear path forward. As someone new to Australia, I found this especially valuable. He not only helped me transition smoothly into Yugo but also adjust to life in Australia. I'd also like to thank Marcus, Jorge, and Ali for their professionalism and friendliness. Overall, I had a positive experience thanks to their support.

I will try to give the most honest opinion on my living experience at Yugo. I was initially attracted by the facilities, location as well as the layout of the room. I can confirm that the general interior of the building as well as the room are both top notch. They also have heaps of nice study rooms, common area and game/cinema rooms that you can kill time with. What really brought down the whole living experience was the staff and the management of the building. Most of the staffs were condescending, rude and unhelpful. Something I would have never expected considering this is a) a student accommodation, b) the hefty weekly rent ppl are paying. The service provided just didnt justify the high price tag here. I deep down believe staffs there r mostly burned out therefore turning their resentment towards residents. One thing everyone should take note is the fishy rotten smell in the building. Its a smell that Ive never smelt in my life. Its extremely unpleasant and that fishy, vomit smell mixed with the summer heat was criminal. The odor was everywhere in the building and theres no way I could escape from it. It affected my sleep and constantly had to leave the building for some fresh air. Numerous emails were sent to the team and they would always just say "we will investigate". I vividly remember there was this time the odor was so strong that I thought there was a decaying body somewhere in the building. This is not a joke. I have to reiterate the seriousness of this. Itās that bad. Not to the mention the constant blocked chute and weekly fire alarm triggers. To add on that, yugo has an auto time limit on the aircon system in your room, which means, the ac would reset and turn off itself every 12 hours. As I recall the cycle is 8pm-8am and 8am-8pm and you have to manually turn it back on once it resets. I've lost count of the amount of times I was woken up by the heat and stuffiness in my room because the AC automatically turned off itself during summer mornings. This still makes no sense to me and when I spoke to the team about it, they simply replied āthatās how the system was built, nothing we can doā. When was the last time you go to an accommodation/hotel where the ac would turn off itself? No accountability taken and they simply donāt care about residents living experience there. Also weird how this never came across their mind when they were designing this mega multimillion dollar student accommodation. If I can think of these things, Iām sure a engeering/builder should have too? But this just didnāt seem to be the case. Considering yugo sits on the more luxurious side on the student accommodation spectrum, you would have thought they would have had all details planned out. Again, poor execution with no customer experience in mind. Your residents are you assets, treat them right! Another thing worth highlighting is the bond. They really will take their time to refund your bond unless you urge them to. This seems to be the norm as it happened to myself, 3 of my friends as well as other reviews online. I left at the end of June and almost took them a month and a half to refund. Take note I had to reach out via email to chase up if not it would have taken longer. They in fact only had to click one button to refund and the money would be with you within a day. If it was that easy, why couldnāt they just do that at the first place? These are peopleās hard earned money and they just donāt seem to care other than milking you. When you checkout for good, they would also charge you cleaning fee for the room you have deeply sanitized right before you check out. Then why ask residents to sanitize it in the first place? I've lived in student accommodations in the past and this was never the practice. I am so glad that I've moved out from this place. p.s stop telling your current residents to give you fake 5 star reviews that were all rated on the same day. People are not that thick. Suggest you guys to start doing something constructive as this is the only solution to turn the boat around.

I lived in a student studio apartment at Yugo Apartment with my wife for six months. Overall, itās a decent place to live. The apartment is clean, the environment is quiet, and the reception staff are always friendly and helpful. The rent is quite high for two people in a small studio, but a big advantage is that the gym is included and there are no extra bills, which is very convenient. The location is excellent youāre in the heart of the city, with supermarkets and services nearby. Some downsides: if you live on the fifth floor or higher, the elevator can be slow or crowded, and the laundry machines arenāt always reliable. Despite the high rent and minor issues, itās a good option for students who want convenience and included amenities.

I think as an international student, it is a very good choice to make this place my home. This building is located in the heart of Adelaide, and is within walking distance of schools and supermarkets. Secondly, it was just built a few years ago, and it is the newest student apartment in Adelaide. At the same time, its floors are also very high, and you can see a very good view from the room. This apartment also has air conditioning that can control cooling and heating by itself. I think this is excellent because I have also lived in the Scape student apartment next door. The air conditioning of scape is centrally controlled by the front desk, while the air conditioning of yugo can be controlled by itself. Finally, I think the front desk staff are also very enthusiastic and responsible. Everyone is very interesting. When I was a resident of yugo, I often played games and chatted with them. Finally, I think the facilities of Yugo Student Apartment are also very new. You can borrow various games and daily necessities at the front desk. Yugo also has its own software. If there is any problem with your room, you can report it in the app. If your package is delivered, it will also be displayed in the app. So I recommend that you try to live in this student apartment.
